This inspiring true story tells how a young biologist with a dream was able to make the world a better place. Puffins were once abundant on many islands throughout Maine, but nearly disappeared in the early 1900s due to excessive hunting for meat and feathers. In 1973, Audubon biologist Stephen Kress began working to bring Atlantic Puffins back to Eastern Egg Rock, a tiny island in Muscongus Bay, Maine, where puffins nested 100 years earlier. Today, thanks to Project Puffin and its conservation partners, puffins are thriving once again on five islands in the Gulf of Maine. Run time: 19:32 minutes.
